STEP 1: Testing Requirements

VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

People traveling to the Bahamas from other countries and fully vaccinated will need to undergo a negative COVID-19 test (rapid antigen test or PCR) no more than 5 days before the arrival date of the Bahamas. The name and address of the laboratory conducting the test must be clearly shown on the test results.

Starting October 1, 2021, all vaccinated travelers who wish to travel between Nassau & Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island, or any other island in the Bahamas within the Bahamas will be required to obtain a negative rapid antigen test result.

 

UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS

Unvaccinated travelers aged 12 or above who enter Nassau or Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island, Bimini, Exuma, Abaco, and North and South Eleuthera must obtain a negative COVID-19 result and PCR (swab) test performed must not exceed 5 days before the date of arrival.

From August 6, 2021, all children aged 2 to 11 who wish to enter the Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 test (rapid antigen test or PCR), and the test must be conducted within 5 days before arriving in the Bahamas.

All children under 2 years old are exempt from any testing requirements

A negative PCR test result must be uploaded to complete the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application and must be presented upon arrival in the Bahamas.

Anyone who provides test results for more than 5 days is not allowed to enter the Bahamas.

Starting October 1, 2021, all unvaccinated travelers who wish to travel between Nassau and Paradise Island and Grand Bahama Island in the inner Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, and the test time must be Within 5 days prior before arrival Bahamas, and show them to the operator of the airline or vessel they are traveling on.

For unvaccinated people traveling across islands from any other island in the Bahamas, a negative result of a rapid antigen test must be required.




 STEP 2: Bahamas Travel Health Visa Application

 

All people who travel to the Bahamas must apply for the Bahamas Travel Health Visa on the program. The relevant link has been described in the description. Starting October 1, 2021, travel health visas will no longer be required for island-to-island travel within the Bahamas.


ALL TRAVELLERS

 

As part of the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application, travelers will need to enroll in COVID-19 health insurance, which covers their stay in the Bahamas. The cost of the insurance is included in the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application fee.

The Bahamas travel health visa application can take up to 48 hours to process. Please make sure to complete it in
sufficient time in advance.

The cost of the Bahamas travel health visa depends on the length of stay and vaccination status.

All travelers 18 years of age or older must complete the personal Bahamas travel health visa application.

People 17 years of age or younger will add personal information to their parent or guardian’s account.

 

VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

 

In addition to a valid vaccination certificate (such as a CDC or government-issued vaccine record card), fully vaccinated travelers also need to upload negative test results.

For international travelers, the vaccination certificate must confirm that they have passed the two-week immunization period.

The Bahamas Government will only be accepting vaccines by Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca.

Mixed and matched second doses of COVID-19 vaccines of either AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or even Johnson & Johnson are also accepted.

 

UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS

 

All people 12 years of age or older who have not been vaccinated will be required to upload their COVID-19 PCR test results that are negative, and the test must be performed 5 days before the arrival date.

Children aged 2 to 11 need to upload their rapid antigen test or PCR test results that are negative.
